To find out more about criteria for inclusion in the TIN100,what the report covers and where we are expanding our analysis to, please read on! WHAT IS THE TIN100 REPORT ??!!The TIN100 Report is piece of independent market research and inclusion in the report is free. TIN researchers collate information from approx 300 companies and report on the largest 200. We endeavour to capture data on all companies that qualify. The majority of the data is from the companies themselves and public information. Where revenue data is not provided we estimate the figure based on staff numbers. All company profile information is verified with every company before publication. Features of the report include: • Analysis of Market Sectors. • Ten companies to watch. • NZ Company Ownership review. • Economic Impact Review. • Analysis of R & D Spend. • Regional Analysis. CRITERIAThe TIN100 Report is a quantitative study of New Zealand’s leading internationally focussed technology businesses in the areas of Hi Tech Manufacturing, ICT and Biotechnology. Increasingly it is a touchstone reference for industry stakeholders within both the private sector and the government. The qualification criteria require companies to: • Originate in New Zealand. • Retain a meaningful presence here in NZ. • Operate in the Hi Tech Manufacturing, ICT or Biotechnology Sectors (not Food Technology incl health supplements). • Generate their own technology based intellectual property. • Generate at least 10% of their revenues offshore. THE GOALThe goal of the report is to create a greater understanding of the importance of the New Zealand Technology sector and the companies within it. In 2009 the leading 100 companies had revenues of NZ$6.6 Billion and offshore revenues of $5.1Billion making theTIN100 one of NZ’s largest foreign exchange earners. In 2010 we expand the report to 200 companies (TIN100+) and including detail on R&D Spend to better understand the place of innovation in the lifecycle of technology companies. The benefits of the report for companies include: • International exposure by NZTE through report distribution to their global offices. • Multi Media Exposure. • Profile with Government & Private Funders – locally & internationally. • Useful information on industry trends. • The opportunity to be identified as one of the leading companies in your field.
As the TIN100 report has gained more momentum every year the accuracy of the information improves. This years report promises to be even more dynamic. We wish to shine a light on what’s working so that we can find ways to encourage more of it.
